Member students’ unions of the Canadian Federation of Students-BC, representing 150,000 university and college students in the province, unanimously adopted the Education Shouldn’t be a Debt Sentence campaign in August 2009.

The campaign goals are:

  1. The establishment of a student grants program.
  2. A tuition fee reduction.
  3. An increase to core funding.
  4. The elimination of interest on BC student loans.

The Student’s Union of Vancouver Community College is working with over 150,000 students across the province to work towards making education accessible and affordable for all students with the Education Shouldn’t be a Debt Sentence campaign and the Canadian Federation of Students-BC.
