Naz Serter
Director of Events
Hey, this is Naz from the International Business and Project Management program. I have been volunteering with AFS globally for more than 15 years, and my main focus always has been the “EVENTS”. I want to share my imaginative ideas and excitement with you all to create memories of our college experience, connect with one another and, for most of us, start a new community in our new country. I hope to create a safe and fun environment for all of us to get together and enjoy VCC other than studying and classes.
Dilara Örs
Director of Internal Affairs
Hello everyone! My name is Dilara Örs. I am a student in Business and Project Management. This is my second year in the school, so I feel tremendously energetic, and I am surrounded with tons of ideas about how to connect us more. Let’s enjoy and evolve together. VCC doesn’t have to be only an education center that we take assignments and exams, it can be more. My objectives are based on two purposes: 1. Turning VCC into a place where we can learn by sharing and succeed by having fun. I want to make this happen by events, advising opportunities, workshops, and the like. 2. Working with student union to know each other, share our concerns and goals. Most of us are separated from our comfort zones and came to a new place. We might face difficulties, have worries and need a piece of advice. I plan to make this union feel like home to everyone.
Kritika
Downtown Campus Representative
Hello, my name is Kritika. I am a post-degree diploma student in the Canadian Business Management program. I care about the college and believe that there is a disconnect between board members and the needs of the students – one which I hope to get rid of. I believe it is important that our college be an inviting area where everyone feels safe and proud to be themselves, regardless of their gender, religion, race and etc. As a student representative, I would listen to everyone’s opinion and would strive for decisions in everyone’s best interest. I will actively seek improvements in inclusiveness, environmental awareness, and priority funding. I have learned a lot through my experience in leadership. In my previous institution in my home country, India, I was also the student union representative under which I respectfully and obediently managed all activities achieving trust and support. All in all, I can proudly assure you that you and I, together, can make a difference.
Ravneek Singh
Downtown Campus Representative
I, Ravneek Singh, am a highly motivated individual who is willing to forfeit their time whenever it is necessary for the betterment of our college. I am reliable and responsible, and I can state with my absolute certainty that I will provide the council both your and my thoughts while also keeping you informed of whatever you need to know. The expectation of our student body is what I strive to meet.
Jessica Ligeralde
Downtown Campus Representative
I am Jessica Marie Ligeralde, a 1st year International Student under the Business and Project Management Program. My pronouns are she/her, and I am your Queer Student Representative. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand and have been through the struggle of hiding behind the closet for so many years. Without many peers, support from the LGBTQIA+ community and my traditional Filipino culture, it was more difficult to be open and be myself. The openness and diversity here in Canada and at VCC gave me the strength to come out and be myself. Thus, as your Queer Student Representative, I would like to continue to spread that courage by helping create a community where all students who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community can have the chance to meet their peers and find support from each other. I also want to spread awareness through educating about the LGBTQIA+ community. Let us all have a continuous celebration of PRIDE throughout the school year and beyond Pride Month.

I will be addressing any issues faced by women on campus. I will be welcoming any ideas and plans beneficial for women. I am hoping to create a safe and fun environment for women studying in VCC. Let’s have fun while standing for our rights as a woman!!
