New On-Campus CPR Re-Certification Service!
Are you in Health Sciences and need to re-certify your CPR as part of your program?
Annoyed that you have to go off-campus and search for the course? Another expense to add to your cost of schooling?
The Students’ Union has partnered with Firestorm Emergency & First Aid Services to offer On-Campus CPR Re-Certification!
Derek Salisbury is a Firefighter and offers a fun and practical course – it is only $40 and conveniently offered right at the Students’ Union Space (Room 2662, Bldg A) at the Broadway Campus!

Update on Health & Dental Plan
If you are eligible and have paid for the Students’ Union Health & Dental Plan, the Black-out period is now over for those that started their classes in September 2011 and you can now use your Student Benefits Card directly at the pharmacy or at your dentist.
You can pick up your Student Benefits Card at the Students’ Union Space at both campuses or print it out from home! Click here for more details about your card.

Start your on-campus trick or treating at the Students’ Union Space (Room 2662 Building A – BWY and Room 358 – Downtown) – come by in your best and spookiest costumes!
We will be posting photos of your costumes on our facebook page and the pic with the most ‘Likes’ will win a $40 Cineplex gift card – a night for 2 at the movies!
At the Broadway Campus – the Cafeteria, Library, VCC Faculty Association and Learning Centre will also be participating.

U-Pass UPDATE
Great news!
You can now pick up your U-Pass 30 minutes after you pay for your fees at both Broadway & Downtown – you used to have to wait overnight.
There are 2 U-Pass machines at the Broadway Campus – the Students’ Union Space Rm 2662 Bldg A and 4th floor by the Registrars & Cashiers.
There is 1 U-Pass machine at the Downtown Campus – across from Security.
*REMEMBER that you begin to pick up your U-Pass for the next month on the 17th – so the last day to pick up your U-Pass for October 2011 is October 16th
Don’t forget to sign your U-Pass and use it with your VCC ID.

With post-secondary students soon heading back to class, B.C. student unions are preparing to launch campaigns aimed at getting young voters to the polls.
The Rock the Vote campaign to register student voters rallied support at Vancouver Island University Monday as student representatives from across the province held an annual general meeting to discuss issues like public transit and tuition fees.
