Every day hundreds of single occupancy vehicles travel to and from campus. This poses a number of problems: large amounts of dangerous vehicle emissions, high individual cost of driving, and a lack of parking spaces on campus. For those trying to reduce their use of cars, pairing up with someone coming and going at a convenient time has been a matter of chance.

The SUVCC Ride Share is an environmental friendly initiative of your Students’ Union aimed at helping reduce carbon emissions by making carpooling easy. Rides posted on the Ride Share show starting point and destination, schedule, cost sharing, and more. Because Kamloops is a small town and a lot of us live in highly populated student areas, there are many opportunities to carpool.

Attending a concert in Victoria? Going home for the holidays? The Ride Share includes not only rides to and from campus but also to and from any city. And now, the SUVCC Ride Share has gone national. Other members of the Canadian Federation of Students inour region and across Canada can post their rides – giving you even more opportunities to save cash and meet fellow students on all of your travels!
