Your Voice Matters – VCC Budget Consultation

We are excited to launch an interactive event for students called Your Voice Matters

Your Voice Matters is about students coming together to have a conversation with the college community about the draft 2012-2013 VCC budget.

  • Have an opinion about Tuition Fee Increases?
  • Campus Sustainability?
  • Student Services?

Together we will be asking questions about those issues and adding our voices to the conversation about how we can make our college an even better place for students to study!

Budgets are complicated and time consuming to understand. But the information they contain affect the entire college community. Over the next couple of weeks more we’ll be breaking down the budget and asking you to add your voice and be heard.

Got a question or are need more information? We’ll also be answering your questions in English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Farsi or Urdu .

 What about class?

On Tuesday January 10, the VCC Education Council voted to declare ‘February 1, 2012 a penalty-free day for which no student shall receive academic penalty for not attending classes because they are attending the Day of Action events from 11:00am to 2:00pm’ and that exams, assignments and other academic demands utilized for grading purposes to not be scheduled where ever possible.

Ok – what does that all mean?

The Student’s Union has worked with VCC to so you can get out of class without penalty to be a part of this event! There is not reason not to attend!

Students should have access to an affordable post-secondary education – no matter where they live! Education is a Right! Find out more…
